Kirby's Adventure is the first and last game Kirby appears in on the Nintendo Entertainment System. This game was remade in 2002 as Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land for the Nintendo DS, and was also re-released in 2007 for the Wii Virtual Console. It also appears as a Masterpiece on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This game brought the element of Copy Abilities into the game series. Unfortunately, Kirby never changed his appearance when he gained a copy ability. (Apart from the powers 'freeze' and 'ice', which gave Kirby a blue appearance)

[edit] Story

Kirby is taking a nap one day when he realizes he has no dream. Suspecting something is wrong, he goes to the Fountain of Dreams in Dream Land. Upon his arrival, he finds King Dedede has broken the Star Rod, the power source of the fountain into several pieces, giving six of the pieces to his accomplices and keeping one for himself. The reason for this is to keep Nightmare out of Dream Land; however, Kirby does not realize this and reforms the Star Rod. The Star Rod unleashes Nightmare, bringing Kirby to fight him upon the moon of Pop Star and eventually defeat him.

This game also marks the first appearance of Meta Knight, as he possess one of the pieces of the Star Rod.
